Take A Swim
Posted by PrettyKeli on 21, October 2011 with

Ok I really don’t know how to swim. I know how to swim underwater but, most swimmers say that doesn’t count. So my mission is to go to my gyms indoor pool and take some swimming lessons. I figure I can learn how to swim and get some awesome exercise. If it’s something I find fun I will continue to do it. Ladies if you are worried about your hair getting wet here is a quick tip. Scarf + plastic bag + swimming cap= dry hair! Ok now onto the swimming.
Benefits of swimming:
Works out your entire body
Strengthens the muscles
Helps with endurance
Doesn’t overwork your heart
Can improve your cardiovascular conditioning
Improves posture
Can help with flexibility (for tips on flexibility check out this post How To Become More Flexible)
Improves your body’s use of oxygen
Improves Blood Pressure
Can help blood flow more efficiently over time
Burns more calories that running (a swimmer can burn the same amount of calories in 1 hour as a person who runs 6 miles for one hour)
Has a low risk of injury
It is a Low-impact exercise
Helps relax the muscles
Can help reduce stress
I know it’s getting cold and you’re probably thinking I’m nuts for posting this but, there are indoor pools! Your gym probably has one, jump in! Even if you don’t know how to swim you can sign up for a water aerobics class. The water is very calming and soothing as well, it’s worth a try ladies. Who is with me, and who thinks I’m absolutely crazy for suggesting you swim with winter approaching? Don’t be shy, let me know! Till next time, keep swimming ^_^
