Pork

When I use to smell my mother cooking bacon, I would run into the kitchen. I loved eating bacon, sausage, and pork chops. I also liked pork rind chips. Then one day a friend showed me a video of a man pouring soda onto a piece of pork. After this, she explained to me all of the things that pigs are fed. She then asked me if I would ever eat those things and of course I said no. Yet, by eating pork, I was eating those horrible things. I wanted to share with you some of what I was told and give you the opportunity to decide if you should let pork go, or continue to chow down.

Facts about pork:

It takes approximately 72 hours for pork to leave the body completely

The bible says it shouldn’t be eaten (Deuteronomy 14:3,8)

Pork prices are extremely low compared to some other meats

Is leaner and contains less cholesterol then beef (example: Pork loin, pork tenderloin)

Is used to flavor many foods to make them taste better

Gets paired with many flavors of wine due to its “delicious” taste

The fat and meat of a pig absorb toxins in a manner similar to a sponge

Pigs do not sweat (sweating is a means of releasing toxins) so the toxins are absorbed into the meat that you eat “and they stay there” (said in my best t-pain voice)

Their flesh contains over a dozen parasites

Pigs eat ANYTHING. This includes vomit, feces, urine, dirt, animal flesh that has decayed, maggots, and rotten vegetables.

They are very helpful animals. They help their friends by eating cancerous growths off of them. YUMM! ^_^

Pork is one of the most fattening foods you can consume! So pork and diet don’t belong in the same sentence

I could literally go on and on with this list, but my goal is not to make you vomit on your keyboard. It’s simply to educate you with some facts and let you make a decision that you feel is best for your health. Are you still looking forward to that breakfast sandwich with sausage? Or are you now considering replacing it with something else? Thankfully they make turkey bacon, sausage, etc. So you have some options if you want to enjoy the same type of food, with a healthy twist and a slightly different taste. So, think carefully about what you have read and make the best decision for your health. See you later ladies, this little piggy is going to the market.
