Stay Away From Sugar
Sugar has been one of my closest friends for many years now. Lately our relationship has become distant and I couldn’t be happier. I know you’ve heard the saying “everything that tastes good to you isn’t necessarily good for you.” Well now you’re about to see just how true that statement is.
How sugar can negatively affect your body and your mind Sugar:
Can suppress the immune system
Contributes to the reduction in defense against bacterial infection (infectious diseases).
Causes a loss of tissue elasticity and function
Leads to cancer of the ovaries.
Interferes with absorption of calcium and magnesium.
Raises the level of neurotransmitters: dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine.
It can make our skin age by changing the structure of collagen.
Can interfere with the absorption of protein.
Is enemy #1 of the bowel movement.
High refined sugar diet reduces learning capacity.
It can be an addictive substance.
Increases the risk of breast cancer.
induces salt and water retention.
Can increase the total amount of food consumed.
P.s this was the nice edited version of the facts about sugar so you can only imagine how bad sugar truly is for you. This was enough for me to think twice about adding sugar to my food. A few minutes of pleasure is not worth a lifetime of pain. If you are going to use sugar, make wise choices as far as the type of sugar you use and your intake. Try eating naturally sweet fruits and vegetables instead.
Another way to break your addiction to sugar is by going on a fast. I suggest you consult your doctor before you do. Find a safe amount of time you can fast and do so! I went on a spiritual fast a few months ago and I drank nothing but water and I didn’t eat at all. I developed a closer relationship with God and after it was all done I no longer needed, or wanted anything sweet.
I use to crave birthday cakes, yes a whole birthday cake for me and it wasn’t my birthday! After the fast I would dilute all natural cranberry juice with water. If that’s not a change I don’t know what is. I immediately felt a change in myself mentally, physically, and spiritually. Watch your sugar intake carefully, make smart choices, and stay healthy!
